Installs with no tools in about 30 seconds. Basically attaches to the rifle stud holes in a vice-like fashion with notches that fit into the holes for additional contact support. This is operated by a metal thumb screw. Easy enough to own one and use with several different rifles and/or use the same stand for multiple rifles at the range. The legs for the 9-13" bipod have 6 positions (locks into place with an audible 'click'). The legs can be adjusted with one hand by pressing thumb shaped buttons on the legs. This can be done without getting up from the bench or compromising any body parts to the muzzle. The legs are raised independently of each other with two very strong springs, one on each leg.
