Just ordered this for the Mini-14. (my luck it went on sale only days after i bought it. Such is life).
Pros : Shipping was fast and free, which was great. The pad itself added an inch to the LOP. The rubber ridged back holds the stock to your shoulder, far better than the original smooth plastic plate which slips and slides around.
Cons- : It's made from something equivalent to Hockey puck rubber. Very rigid, no give. Does nothing for absorbing recoil. (223 doesn't really kick that much anyway) Heavy, added quite a few more ounces to the weight of the gun. Didn't fit the stock, needed modifications to mate up the curve of the stock. Top screw hole was drilled in the wrong spot. (more modifications)
Overall: If LOP is all you're looking for, then this will work well (with modifications to make it fit) If recoil is an issue for you, this is not the item to add to your Mini. Happy with CombatOptical, Displeased with the Recoil Pad.
